About this artwork
I called this work "Against the Wave" because for me it is more than a nude painting – it is an inner state. The moment in which the body braces itself against the crash of the sea is not staged, but felt. I wanted to show the strength that lies in vulnerability – not the posing, but the perseverance. The water rages, the gaze remains clear. This scene contains resistance, sensuality, but also a quiet form of despair. While taking the photo, I sensed…
that the sea is not just an element, it is a mirror. And what is reflected in it are the questions we all know – who am I when everything around me is raging? This picture is not a story of victory, but of the will not to sink. For me, this is humanity in its rawest, most beautiful form.
