About this artwork
I called this work "Throne of Contrasts" because, for me, it embodies the essence of both strength and vulnerability. The woman stands erect, exposed yet untouchable, as if claiming space with her body that others would otherwise take away from her. Her crown seems not magnificent, but symbolic—like a cry from ancient myths, reimagined. The dark, tiered skirt seems to carry the history of many generations, while the raw skin across her chest deliberately…
rejects all decoration. I see her not as a muse, but as a queen of the in-between: between power and powerlessness, flesh and form, time and memory. This image is not made for a quick glance. It demands devotion, reflection—and perhaps even a quiet capitulation to a beauty that refuses to please.
