About this artwork
This sculpture evolved from an irregular shaped beige alabaster boulder. It was large in diameter but thin in depth.
This presented all sorts of ideas to me on what the finished peace going to look like. As I because carving the stone I decide to give some negative space to it to create a feeling of lightness and movement.
The final design achieved what I was trying to create.
