About this artwork
This sculpture represents a fiery object.
I chose a stone which would capture the essence of my creative idea of this concept. The stone was a rare orange alabaster.
I envisioned a fiery object dancing through the cosmos.
As I began to create the shape the orange alabaster it began to reveal its fiery form.
The final result was a blazing object that danced in Stravinsky’s ballet, The Firebird.
Standing more than 3 feet tall, I titled this sculpture… Firebird
