About this artwork
Experience the profound stillness of distant peaks. This original work from the Silent Summits series captures the ethereal beauty of mountain ranges shrouded in morning mist.
Using a delicate watercolor technique on raw canvas, I applied highly diluted acrylics with my hands to create these translucent, flowing horizons. By forgoing brushes, I maintain a direct, tactile connection to the material, allowing the pigment to merge seamlessly with… the textile fibers. The result is a matte, organic surface that radiates both depth and weightlessness.
Silent Summits is an invitation to breathe deeply and find your own center of calm within the vastness of the blue heights.

Johanne Bossmann is a Cologne-based painter who works primarily with highly diluted acrylics on raw canvas, drawing from a background in both art and art therapy. She applies pigments by hand, creating rhythmic, transparent layers reminiscent of watercolor, resulting in meditative abstractions defined by gentle color transitions and organic forms. Her process emphasizes intuition and material dialogue, balancing minimalism with emotional depth. Through harmonious palettes and soft, atmospheric compositions, she seeks to evoke stillness and acts of pause, inviting viewers to experience serenity, balance, and a refuge from life’s overstimulation.
