About this artwork
This amazing seascape is set in North Wales in the UK at the great Conway Bay in Rhos on Sea overlooking the Irish Sea. This image is from a series entitled parallel spaces in which the subject matter is considered as a combination of geometrical shapes, usually defined by rectangles, being parallel to each other. Often this wlll consist of foreground, middle ground and horizon and of contrasting colours and textures.

John Brooks is a British visual artist who is currently living and working in Bristol, UK. Through his photography, Brooks wishes to project a visual and emotional response that extends far beyond the pictorial. His photographs, both analogue and digital, often employ a layering affect where a subject becomes doubled or tripled, thereby creating an illusion of volume, depth and spatiality. His photographs can reflect the imposing nature of urbanism and play with perspective to create an illusory world.
His other works include well though through abstract studies and minimalist works, some architectural and some topographical.
