Exploring the east coast of India led him to Channai a city rich in history and commerce.
There are many fishermen who make their living there and whose families often live on the beach.
The washing seen here is therefore a commonplace sight and contrasts greatly with the flora and fuana usually associated with beaches. It is also a pleasant contrast to the flotsam and rubbish which quickly accumulates.
