About this artwork
Using acrylics to achieve a meticulous realism that engages with the aesthetics of Pop Art, I sought to reveal emotions that are often contradictory: isolation and audacity. The broken glass is not just a barrier, but a portal. I wanted to convey that universal feeling of being trapped in a rigid structure—a social or personal "algorithm"—and the visceral impulse to break through those barriers and reclaim one's own voice. More than a portrait, this…
work is a catalyst for energy. Its charged atmosphere and deep palette are designed to transform any environment, bringing a powerful, provocative, and profoundly human presence that invites the viewer to question their own vulnerabilities and strengths. The woman's face, intentionally evoking the aesthetic of a Hollywood icon (Marilyn Monroe), serves as a canvas for examining the multiple layers of existence. The central element is the emerald-green broken glass.
