About this artwork
In crafting this watercolor painting, I aimed to capture the essence and mood of a historic square, enveloped in the raw emotion and spontaneity of expressionism. The fluidity of the watercolors enhances the vividness of the antique buildings and the dynamic statue, evoking a sense of timeless charm and resilience. Through this artwork, I convey the spirit of heritage and the continuity of past and present, inviting viewers to feel the echo of history… and the vibrancy of life that persists in such spaces. This piece is designed to bring an aura of inspiration and a touch of nostalgia to any room it graces.
Jomay Tam, born in Hong Kong and based in Florence Italy. She graduated from the prestigious Libera Accademia di Belle Arte Firenze. Her paintings have been widely exhibited nationwide in Italy and internationally, e.g. London, Brussels, Barcelona, Innsbruck, Cannes, Paris etc. She specialized in classical techniques imbued with contemporary flair. She mirrors the bold hues and free brushstrokes of Impressionism, like Monet and Renoir, absorbed with the interplay of color and shape. Her explorative approach yields an abstract outcome, often using unconventional media like alcohol ink. Her artworks are vibrant, mirroring her strong convictions around color's capacity to impact mood, and they emit feelings of freshness, joy, and clarity.
