About this artwork
JUST COMPLETED 03/12/23 AND DRYING-SHIPS IN 30 DAYS. I anyone is curious why I post wet paintings; it is because I have collectors who buy them while still wet. This is my way of giving everyone a fair shot.
Sometimes it's all about keeping it simple. This work is indeed playful, yet less aggressive than most of my pure energy works. It's a memory harkening pure emotion, evoking pure pleasure and relaxation and also a touch of anxiety as I inched… closer to the water crashing just over the hill. I just couldn't get there fast enough. Water for me is the ultimate soul satisfying element of nature. I feel complete around it. Funny though, I have little interest in painting it...maybe someday...The impasto, textural strokes of the vegetation convey a land teeming with life, moving yet still, alive and somehow aware of my inner connectivity, while the sky offers direct contrast with its thin wash and rapacious brush strokes. I can feel the warm breeze and smell the wet air.
« Either way, my message for the viewer is simple. Enjoy my work for its visual elements. Experience the excitement of the micro, macro, and then the subliminal. Rinse and repeat. »
Jon Parlangeli is a passionate American painter and sculptor who has widely exhibited his work throughout the U.S. Fascinated by the process of creation, he composes works that experiment with color and the physicality of paint. Parlangeli's creations stand out for their depth and tactility, appearing as explosions of bright color and unexpected shapes. Parlangeli additionally includes a representational balance of nature and humanity in his work, that merges with abstract elements to create a kind of historic bibliophile hidden in the paint.
