About this artwork
***ENLARGE THIS IMAGE TO SEE THE ACUTAL DETAIL AND DEPTH OF PAINT***
Harkening back to my last trip to Jamaica, Caribbean is what 20-25 pounds of oil paint looks like on a 3'x3' canvas! Lets face it, painting isn't easy, but the struggle is what it is all about. Every brushstroke brings forth an emotion and hearkens a brand new conversation between creator and subject. I've been working on this painting for months now and have had many conversations… with it, some good, some bad, but all with the same goal of creating this indelible image of natural landscape...of water and plant life blended into a colorful harmony that only a breezy day in the Caribbean can bring. I cannot wait to go back...
This oils was completed 04/02/21 and is drying. It will be available to ship in mid-May.
« Either way, my message for the viewer is simple. Enjoy my work for its visual elements. Experience the excitement of the micro, macro, and then the subliminal. Rinse and repeat. »
Jon Parlangeli is a passionate American painter and sculptor who has widely exhibited his work throughout the U.S. Fascinated by the process of creation, he composes works that experiment with color and the physicality of paint. Parlangeli's creations stand out for their depth and tactility, appearing as explosions of bright color and unexpected shapes. Parlangeli additionally includes a representational balance of nature and humanity in his work, that merges with abstract elements to create a kind of historic bibliophile hidden in the paint.
