Jonathan Charlier is a contemporary Belgian painter, trained at the Beaux-Arts, who also explores painting applied to textiles to create a dialogue between art and everyday life. He favors abstraction and intuition, alternating superimpositions, erasures, free marks, and plays of texture to create open, vibrant, and meditative spaces. Through his textures and transparencies, he seeks a subtle balance between tension and serenity. His works invite each viewer to experience profound calm, an inner light, and to reconnect with what is essential, establishing a feeling of gentle and unsettling presence.
