I created this painting of professional skateboarder Brian Anderson. I grew up watching Brian skate through videos and magazines. He was an inspiration to me then as well as today. He lives as an openly gay man, which, in the sport of professional skateboarding, isn't always welcoming or… encouraging to that lifestyle.

At the age of 15, on a trip to the Art Institute of Chicago with his parents, Jonathan Mcafee was stopped in his tracks by Warhol's 'Mao,' and definitely marked the start of his artistic pursuits. Today, Mcafee is busy composing expressive portraits centred on the theme of memory.
