About this artwork
Work inspired by the Fuchsia Fairy giving life to the Fuchsia flower or Aljaba (fuchsia magellanica) native to the Andean Patagonian forest, of importance in the ancestral medicine of the Mapuche nation. You can see a stone with the symbol of Meli witran mapu (mapudungun, land of the four places), in the Mapuche worldview, it is the representation of the earth and its four cardinal points.

Jorge Bernard is a painter, draftsman, and sculptor based in Argentina whose works have been exhibited nationally, in Romania and Chile. Describing his art as being a tribute to Mother Earth, he also pays homage to the aboriginal people of America, as well as the flora and fauna that are in danger of extinction. Bernard's fantastically realistic pieces are most often created using oils and acrylics on canvas.
