About this artwork
The artist narrates in this work, the silent and profound struggle, carried out by invisible and visible beings, to perpetuate life and birth, in the pristine immaculate forest of the Amazon, facing the voracious fire of the fires that stalk the ephemeral garden, threatening it with calcination and death. Present in this work are the Victoria Amazonica, the largest of the water lilies that live in the shallow waters of the Amazon River. The Serpent,… symbol of sinuosity and deployment in life. The Jaguar, symbol of power and evolution, in a languishing ecosystem. The flower, symbol of the continuity and transmutation of all living things. Floral pollen, a symbol of procreation and transcendence, in the continuous chain of life on the planet. Fire, symbol of total transformation.
« The magic of the world we live in is secretly expressed through the healing energy of flowers and the colors I use in my palette. »
Jorge Bernard is a painter, draftsman, and sculptor based in Argentina whose works have been exhibited nationally, in Romania and Chile. Describing his art as being a tribute to Mother Earth, he also pays homage to the aboriginal people of America, as well as the flora and fauna that are in danger of extinction. Bernard's fantastically realistic pieces are most often created using oils and acrylics on canvas.
