Jorge Calero is an established Colombian painter based in Portugal who was primarily influenced to pursue a career in art from his experience growing up in the lush Colombian tropics. His primary artistic focus is the essence of light, which he explores to encourage emotional interpretation of the visible, quantic realities revealed by subtle limits between light and form. His act of drawing attention to the overwhelming beauty of nature through vivid colours and fantastical figures is driven by his concern for our world's state of ecological emergency.
