In this work, I share my exploration of textures and shapes through collage, seeking a dialogue between the rigid and the organic. I wanted to capture calm and structure, inviting the viewer to find serenity and balance in its space. It's an invitation to connect with simplicity and let the mind relax amidst layers and nuances.
My work is based on the transformation of the forgotten and discarded. As an artist based in Valencia, Spain, I have spent decades exploring the boundaries of painting, and in recent years I have discovered a powerful new language in abstract collage. I am drawn to materials with a history: old papers, industrial remnants, fragments of cardboard; each with its own silent narrative. Through a process that balances chance and precision, I integrate these elements into layered compositions, where texture and materiality evoke the geological and the organic.
Sustainability is fundamental to my practice. By rescuing and reusing materials, I seek to raise awareness about our relationship with nature and the everyday objects we often overlook. My collages are not mere visual explorations; they are meditations on memory, transformation, and the beauty found in what others discard.
