About this artwork
This work is a collage that plays with textures and contrasts, incorporating materials that evoke a sense of depth and complexity. My intention was to explore the interplay between harmony and visual tension. This work captures a dialogue between the ancient and the modern, and how they coexist in the same space, inviting reflection on permanence and transformation. Its presence in any home will add a touch of sophistication and a focal point for… contemplation and inspiration.
My work is based on the transformation of the forgotten and discarded. As an artist based in Valencia, Spain, I have spent decades exploring the boundaries of painting, and in recent years I have discovered a powerful new language in abstract collage. I am drawn to materials with a history: old papers, industrial remnants, fragments of cardboard; each with its own silent narrative. Through a process that balances chance and precision, I integrate these elements into layered compositions, where texture and materiality evoke the geological and the organic.
Sustainability is fundamental to my practice. By rescuing and reusing materials, I seek to raise awareness about our relationship with nature and the everyday objects we often overlook. My collages are not mere visual explorations; they are meditations on memory, transformation, and the beauty found in what others discard.
