About this artwork
Field Notes — a restless, confident abstract that puts grays, rust and creamy neutrals in a lively argument. Field notes was inspired by the many fields of wildflowers and grass where I walk my dog. I used loose brushwork, drips and looping scribbles threaded across layers and textures, like someone sketching plans on the run. The result conveys a can-do energy that asks a few questions and refuses easy answers — ideal for anyone who likes a little…
mystery with their modern. A bold, conversation-starting piece that makes a smart addition to your space.

After decades in the corporate world, Joyce now devotes herself fulltime to her art. Using layers of paint, collage, and mixed media, her technique involves an intuitive, experimental approach. Joyce creates abstracts inspired by nature, travel, and personal memories, often layering circles, motion, vibrant color, and expressive female figures. Her captivating works embody resilience, boldness, and an enduring sense of joy and determination.
