I have always been inspired by the stories of myth and legend. Swan—ultimate symbol of love—evokes strong feelings around love and partnership even more deeply when paired with shapeshifting goddess stories. In Celtic mythology numerous tales exist of goddesses or faery women who transform from woman to swan and back again. Swan is also associated with Aphrodite, Greek Goddess of Love.
When I was working on the painting and story about Swan for… my Animal Wisdom Oracle deck I became so fascinated and inspired with these stories of transformation that this painting, "She Transforms" emerged. The metaphysical symbol, The Flower of Life, embedded in the background represents interconnectedness and the unity from which duality springs. The piece fills any space with a powerful, uplifting energy that celebrates beauty and the power of love to transform.
