About this artwork
I was fascinated by the contrast between the ephemeral and the permanent. It's an attempt to capture a moment of absolute lightness in a dandelion.
The background is composed of interpenetrating shades of ochre, brown, and sepia, created using a glaze technique that gives the canvas the appearance of old parchment or raw earth.
The dandelions themselves are the result of hundreds of tiny, confident strokes.
This is not a flat painting. The inflorescences… have a palpable structure (impasto), which allows them to "pop" out of the frame under the right lighting, creating a three-dimensional effect.
The three dandelions are not just plants—they are symbols of the perfect geometry of nature.

Grzegorz Gust and Julia Gust-Trybuś are an intergenerational artistic duo whose work constitutes a unique dialogue between the biological structure of nature and the depth of human emotion. Both are members of the Association of Visual Artists (ZAP), which confirms their solid craft and professional status.
Drawing on his many years of experience as a forester, Grzegorz Gust creates fascinating dendritic structures using mixed media. His paintings are a "school of nature" – an authentic study of the matter, textures, and organic logic of the forest, recognized by websites such as Aatonau (2026).
Julia Gust-Trybuś brings over fifteen years of professional experience to the duo. Her domain is dreamlike portraits, in which the psychological charge of the gaze is the focal point. Combining anatomical precision with bold color play, she builds intimate bridges between realism and imagination.
