About this artwork
“Cherry on the Cake” is a striking mixed-media figurative artwork that blends fashion-inspired portraiture, theatrical elegance, and bold contemporary glamour. Set against a rich cherry-red background, the composition features a graceful female figure in a dramatic black lace dress, framed by a luminous circular form evoking a moon, a spotlight, or a stage setting.
The artwork combines expressive painting with decorative mixed-media details, including… intricate lace textures, soft floral forms, gold accents, and sculptural elements. The figure’s confident pose, elaborate headpiece, and sensual silhouette create a mood of mystery, femininity, celebration, and haute couture drama.
This original mixed media painting is ideal for collectors drawn to contemporary figurative art, fashion art, feminine portraiture, romantic interiors, and statement pieces with strong colour and visual impact. “Cherry on the Cake” brings elegance, passion, and theatrical sophistication to modern interiors.

« The process of creating a series of artworks is a simple meditation on life and spirituality. »
Julia Hacker is a Toronto-based contemporary painter creating vibrant, often large-scale works rooted in nature-inspired expressionism. Her background in fashion continues to inform her sensitivity to colour, rhythm, pattern, and composition. Drawing from memory and imagination, Hacker builds layered paintings through gestural brushwork, expressive drawing, and intuitive relationships between colour and form. Her work has been exhibited across North America and presented at major art fairs. She is an elected member of the Society of Canadian Artists, a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, and is represented by ADC Fine Art and GalleryOne. Her paintings are held in private and corporate collections internationally.
