About this artwork
Canvas inspired by “The Martian Trilogy: Red Mars; Green Mars; Mars la Bleue.”
I chose to use warm tones to evoke this planet with its very characteristic appearance, easily recognizable due to its composition.
Beforehand, a set of textures was prepared, in order to represent this telluric planet with its numerous craters...
Then I opted for a gradient starting from the yellow on the left part to join the red shades on the opposite part.
… These colors recall the particular atmosphere of this planet.
The shades of red, the differences in intensity and the touches of white are made to create a hazy effect, this planet being swept by dust storms which obscure it.
Finally, the last touches and lines of more saturated brown and yellow finish giving relief, depth and movement to this painting to give it more character.
