About this artwork
After a tropical storm passed through Oʻahu, a large puddle remained on the pier, something that almost never exists in this place.
As the day draws to a close, people arrive from different directions, each carrying their own thoughts, routines, and reasons for being there.
What drew me to this scene was not the sunset itself, but the quiet convergence it created.
For a brief moment, strangers shared the same light, the same horizon, and even the… same reflection left behind by the storm. The puddle will soon dry. The light will disappear. The people will continue on their separate paths.
Yet for one ordinary evening, everything briefly came together. Sometimes beauty is not created by what remains, but by what is briefly left behind.
