About this artwork
Behind the thick fog, another, unknown world unfolds in which reality seems to disappear. This world is permeated with secrets and mysteries, in which the boundaries between dream and reality merge. Anything could be hidden behind the fog - from strange landscapes to hidden truths and deep emotions that are often suppressed in hectic everyday life.
I remember walking in the early morning hours when the mist hovered over the lake and covered the… world in a soft grey. In that moment I felt like I was entering another dimension where anything was possible. It was a place of transformation where the usual order was dissolved and new possibilities entered the space.
For me, FoG is a metaphor for the limits of our understanding and perception, which often prevent us from grasping the world in its full diversity and depth.
CHANGE and TRANSFORMATION are the central themes of my art. Through the power of colors, I express invisible inner states as well as the preconscious and unconscious and make them sensually perceptible. In my works, spaces of tension arise that combine calm and movement, dynamics and tension, and in which feelings, images and associations can come to life.
I work with different techniques: colors are removed and reapplied, and I use different utensils to scratch, smear and rub the materials - all of this leaves unmistakable marks on the canvas.
Are they landscapes or people? Or are they rather independent abstractions? This uncertainty remains even after a longer viewing and invites you to develop your own perceptions and memories of the images.
