About this artwork
Starting off as purely abstract colour and shapes, I started to see flowers in a pot emerge. A dark background was added as a contrast to the light colours of the flowering shapes.

Kaitlin Johnson is an emerging Canadian painter who has exhibited her work nationally. Combining washes of colour and thick strokes, intricate patterns and spatial balance, she composes paintings that dance with shapes and bloom with colours. Johnson ultimately seeks to explore the struggle of moving from woundedness and pain towards beauty and healing.
