UNAPOLOGETIC
This work originated from a musical impulse.
A song that was constantly playing in the charts inspired me to create this character with a hat and guitar.
I deliberately avoided the classic rendering of the face.
Instead, I build identity through relief-like gilding.
The face is not painted, but structurally shaped.
The character remains open to interpretation.
UNAPOLOGETIC stands for presence without justification.
Contemporary… figurative painting with textured gilding.

My work explores the tension between identity, body, concealment, and transformation.
I don't understand painting as a representation, but as a space for inner movement. As a place where that which cannot be captured becomes visible.
I work in series that develop organically during the process, not from pre-existing concepts. Material plays a central role: acrylic, texture, gold leaf, platinum, and mixed media are not merely decorative elements, but carriers of meaning.
Concealment is not a retreat. It is a deliberate act. It creates distance, protection, and a new way of reading.
Faces and bodies do not appear as surfaces for identification, but rather as spaces for projection. I understand identity not as a state, but as a process, characterized by the tension between visibility and withdrawal.
