About this artwork
When this elderly gentleman's efforts tp raise money became public and in fact went global Karin was inspired to paint his portrait to raise money for charity. Col. Tom is painted in oils on linen and is worked from a photo. He is giving his thumbs up signal which became the sign during Covid in 2020. He has sunlight reflections down his face which came from the street light shining in through blinds in the artlst's studio. The artist felt this…
accentuated the feelings of that first Lockdown - being locked in but still hopeful.
