About this artwork
Wind serves as the technical and conceptual axis of the series, capturing the precise moment the female figure sheds her gravitational weight to merge with the elements. In this work, the body offers no resistance, allowing itself to be carried by the force of the air in an absolute symbiosis with nature, where the human and the elemental become a single substance.
This transition is manifested through a radical technical shift: the elimination of… the palette knife in favor of the exclusive use of the brush, allowing for an organic and swift stroke that captures the ethereal quality of movement. By removing ochre tones and focusing the palette on vibrant blues against pure white, the anatomy ceases to belong to the earth and integrates into an atmospheric space. Here, the woman does not simply occupy the void—she dissolves into it, reaching a state of minimalism where the body is, finally, air and freedom.

Karina Yacoubian is a visual artist whose abstract work explores the relationship between color and movement, alongside the balance of structure and freedom. Her compositions maintain a strong connection to the imaginary and the intuitive, unfolding at the intersection of geometry and gesture, order and emotion.
From an early age, the artist showed a deep interest in drawing, art history, and architecture—three languages that continue to define her creative universe. She studied Interior Design at ORT University in Montevideo, Uruguay, and later Architecture at the University of Belgrano in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Although academically trained in design and architecture, she is a self-taught painter, guided by curiosity, intuition, and a deeply personal sense of experimentation.
