For over twenty years, my long-term project "Happy at 100" has been portraying centenarians around the world. One of these portraits was taken in 2014 in the Munich apartment of Lukas Ammann, a Swiss-German actor then 102 years old, known to a wide audience from the television series "Graf Yoster gibt sich die Ehre" (Count Yoster Pays His Respects). In this digital black-and-white photograph, my focus was entirely on the depth and wisdom of a life… well-lived. Every wrinkle tells a story, every gaze holds experience. My aim was to make timelessness and inner strength visible in an honest, unvarnished moment – an image that brings quiet strength and genuine humanity into any room.
