“Donuks” is a contemporary sculpture that transforms an everyday and recognizable object into a visual reflection on society, individuality, and collective behavior.
The piece features a large white donut, hand-painted with gestural splashes of black and fluorescent pink, accompanied by dozens of small abstract figures scattered across its surface. These micro-presences appear to shift, accumulate, and coexist around the artwork, generating a sense… of movement, chaos, and humanity.
The open bite reveals a vibrant, textured interior that contrasts with the pristine white exterior, creating a point of visual and symbolic tension. The work plays between pop and conceptual art, between the playful and the critical, using the language of color, repetition, and imperfection as narrative elements.
Each Donuk is a unique piece, handcrafted by Kastro, preserving the unrepeatable traces, textures, and gestures of the creative process.

I am a Spanish painter and sculptor passionate about abstract art and abstract expressionism. Since 2014, I have been exploring new forms of expression through my art, capturing emotional states that cannot be expressed in words. My work is inspired by Informalism and Tachisme, using a minimalist palette of black, red, and brown to explore the shadows and light of the human experience. I have had the privilege of exhibiting in national and international galleries, sharing my vision with audiences in over 40 countries. In addition to my artistic career, I have been a design professor for over 11 years, combining my academic experience with a constant search for new creative possibilities.
