However, the impression can be most powerful: a city on the water’s edge is transformed as dramatic weather interacts with the architecture; the energy of the effervescent zone where sea meets land transforms as it reacts to atmospheric changes. As an avid bicyclist and walker, Kate Hendrickson journeys through urban and rural landscapes fill her visual field…
with moments that become the subjects of her drawings. Much of the mileage runs along shorelines. Through personal observation she shares what she sees and how she feels during those moments. And sometimes, Hendrickson detours to places in her imagination . In the end, the experience is frozen in time.

Kate Hendrickson is an American draftsman whose works have been widely exhibited on a national level. Her abstract compositions both explore and reconcile feelings of discomfort in revealing Judaism, the faith she has chosen. Through her pieces, she hopes to help everyone feel more comfortable with proudly expressing who they really are. Creating with pastels, graphite, and colored pencils, Hendrickson also adds Hebrew words that are connected to urban and natural environments in her paintings.
