About this artwork
This is the framed colour version of the image which is also available in the combined edition of 15 in black and white and unframed as required
The picture features the eye of an Icelandic foal who I met standing at liberty in a field, with a small herd close by. I was greatly attracted by his beautiful eye, which looks as though eyeliner has been carefully painted around it.
The close up allows a total focus on how his forelock sweeps over the… eye, partly concealing it. The black and white version seems more intimate than the colour version. However both are available in framed and unframed format. The frame is black wood with a slight grain
Kate Lloyd is a photographer trained under acclaimed artists, most notably Jonathan Chritchley of Ocean Capture. She employs abstract and verismo styles, using multiple exposures to transform images of horses, water, and Venetian scenes into vibrant compositions, often presented as acrylics or luxury silk scarves. Her work radiates a profound appreciation for the untamed spirit of horses and the luminous mystery of water, evoking both tranquility and wonder.
