About this artwork
Bumble Bee, a bumblebee, that I placed at my side during my work process. I painted and glued her dress in many layers, reading her lips, so to speak. In a certain sense, she remains with me as a being that I have not only taken into my heart, but also sent on a journey, because I have given her many stories to follow. Some may be read, but the world and the work are open to all further and different interpretations... It should function in itself… as a complete composition just as it does from a smaller perspective. Then, before the viewer's eye, a whole series of small worlds emerge, each of which is also self-contained.
Studied and graduated with distinction at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, Prof. Axel Kasseböhmer, Prof. Günther Förg The central theme of my art: the investigation of skin as an interface between self and world, between inside and outside, as a place where encounters take place. The artistic realization of active and passive skin senses and skin imaginations, as well as the interplay of visual perceptions and tactile experiences play the main role. The human experience is joined by the experience of nature. In my work, subtle and sensitive perceptions and imaginations are in the foreground. In constant action and reaction patterns, I work out individual parts in order to put them into correspondence with each other on the whole. With collage, I have found the most harmonious technique for combining both slow, imaginative vision and material sensuality.
