About this artwork
This is a photo of the artist in Arles in her early 20’s. A few years after studying in Paris for a semester, she reunited with her best friend, who she had met on the program, for a wonderful adventure through the south of France. She remembers being shocked that the gnarled deformed trees of Vincent Van Gogh’s paintings actually looked exactly the same in person. She is still waiting to go back.
