About this artwork
In this artwork, I delved deep into the abstract essence of emotion, using vibrant acrylics and soft colored pencils, accentuated by the raw honesty of graphite. It is an expressionistic symphony of color and texture that represents the tumult of feelings and the harmony within chaos. Within these layers, I envisioned a kinetic energy that dances across the canvas, inviting viewers to reflect on their inner landscapes. Every stroke is a note in a…
visual melody, meant to invigorate and resonate in your space with a life of its own.

« Play is a big part of my art practice, and it shows in my work. Playful and happy, I hope it makes you smile. »
Katie Willes is an exciting American painter who began painting as a way to feel close to her daughter, who went to college to study art. Willes' process involves a sense of play, and she seeks to work in the contrasts between chaos and order, intuition and abandon. Pastel acrylics meld into one another, often accentuated with pencil, charcoal, or crayon marks to create lighthearted and whimsical works.
