About this artwork
The painting is an abstract acrylic painting on canvas in a larger landscape format (100x120x4cm) predominantly in light white and gray tones, punctuated by color-intensive turquoise, rose, orange and black tones. Neon colors peek through in some places. The focus of the painting is at the top. The title refers to a story that the painting reminds me of. A Canadian fisherman's wife who came from a very humble background used to say to her daughter…
(a friend of mine) "Aim high, there is lots of room left!" to motivate us to achieve the best and try harder. This picture reminds me of this story.

Katja Gramann is a German artist whose painting follows the tradition of Art Informel. All of her works are consistently abstract. Her works have been exhibited in Germany in numerous solo and group events. Katja Gramann has also been successfully represented by a gallery in Belgium since 2022. Her participation in a summer exhibition at the Royal Academy of Art in London in 2022 also brought her international recognition. The artist pursues three styles in her painting: acrylic painting, mixed media (using ash, pigments, rock flour, charcoal, rust, and paper), and abstract collages made of fine Chinese paper, which Gramann colors herself, dries, and then arranges into a painting in a multi-layered process. Since 2021, Katja Gramann has been teaching painting at independent art academies in Vienna, Kolbermoor, and Bad Heilbrunn.
