About this artwork
Meerkat Manor, is an original painting of 5, adorable meerkats enjoying a lazy afternoon in a beautiful interior designed by Irish interior decorator, Jen Connell. A view from the window of this gorgeous room shows an inviting, sunny, African landscape with a giraffe and 2 zebras strolling by. On the shelves, I added a stature of a Hoopoe bird, a Guinea fowl, and African Grey parrot, a cammel teapot and a parrot tureen. I also added protea flowers…
to the red window vase and a teapot with a Hoopoe bird on it and my favorite leopard print tea cup! These little details tie in with the theme of this artwork! We have a family of meerkats at our nearby zoo. I've spent time observing them as they scurry around making sure their little tunnel homes are perfectly clean. Watching them gave me the idea that they'd feel right at home in a beautiful, neat interior like this one!
