About this artwork
In the frame stands an almost weightless, transparent bottle, as if woven from morning mist. Behind its glass walls, trembling in the diffused light, an extremely delicate sprout is barely visible, softly shimmering in a fine haze of blur. Yet one line holds the gaze: the wavy stem, surprisingly clear in its fragility, with two tiny purple blossoms at its tip.
The photograph speaks of nature’s vulnerability, of its quiet beauty that is so easy to… miss. It reminds us how important it is to pause, to look closely, and to allow what is most delicate to be seen and loved.

I explore time as a living substance.
Through light, reflection, shadow and transformation, I seek to reveal the invisible presence of time and the traces it leaves behind. Working across painting, photography and moving image, I explore the hidden forces that shape nature and human experience, connecting the fleeting moment with eternity and the visible with the unseen.
Born in Novokuznetsk, Russia, in 1959, I have lived and worked in the Netherlands since 1991. I studied at the Kemerovo Regional Art Academy and the Stroganov Academy of Industrial Art and Design in Moscow, graduating with distinction.
My work has been presented in more than 100 solo and group exhibitions internationally and has received awards and nominations in international art, photography and film competitions. My artistic practice also includes books, films, lectures and commissioned portraits. My work is held in museum, public and private collections internationally.
