About this artwork
I painted this artwork to capture the unique magic of the Carpathian twilight, a moment when the world around us falls into silence and peace. The vibrant red horse embodies a sense of passion, freedom, and inner energy. In contrast, the quiet female figure in green represents harmony, faith, and the spiritual balance we find during the evening hours. By placing these bold colors against a dark, moonlit space, I wanted to create a feeling of infinity…
and movement. For me, this painting is about the freedom to truly be oneself and the belief that the inner light of the soul can outshine any darkness.

Larisa Brovdi is a Ukrainian painter and tapestry artist educated at the Uzhhorod College of Applied Arts, whose career is deeply rooted in the Transcarpathian School of Painting. She works in lyrical symbolism, neo-primitivism, and decorative painting, masterfully blending bold impasto textures with exquisite color harmonies.
Alongside her husband Ivan Brovdi, she represented Ukrainian art during a major National Exhibition tour across the USA (Washington, New York, San Francisco, LA). Following this, her tapestries were exhibited at the Grand Palais in Paris, the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels, and the Kunsthalle in Budapest.
As a celebrated master, she has held dozens of solo exhibitions across Ukraine and Europe, including retrospectives in Uzhhorod, Mukachevo, Kyiv, and projects in Hungary. Her work radiates serenity, dignity, and spiritual stillness.
