About this artwork
Ophélie: an art-deco echo. Ophélie is a dream, but at the same time a playful universe translated by a geometric mosaic offering a beautiful range of colors. The woman is petite and graceful and her colorful adornment unfolds freely like a parasol, just like her hair similar to wings (a motif that we find in other paintings of my composition). Each colored surface neighbors the others reflecting an appetite for saturated and shimmering pigments.… Ophélie's very light complexion is further highlighted.
« One morning, light and shadow appeared as an incredibly beautiful thing to the child that I was. This revelation remains intact and it accompanies me every day. »
