About this artwork
The artist was walking near her house when she saw a herd of cows with their calves. She was able to observe a scene full of tenderness where a little calf was suckling its mother. He was curious to see the artist so close and kept an eye on her while suckling her mother. It is this scene that the artist wanted to immortalize in this painting.

French artist Laurence Saunois has established herself on the international scene thanks to her talent recognized by the prestigious Society of Animal Artists in the United States, from which she received an Award of Excellence, as well as by the Art Renewal Center, which awarded her the title of Living Master Associate. Inspired by Monet's gardens at Giverny, this series of ten large-format works makes light and color the true protagonists of her works. Already internationally acclaimed, it will be presented during a US museum tour from 2026 to 2027 in six museums.
