About this artwork
The artist loves foxes. Intelligent and cunning, they are so useful for biodiversity. She chose to paint the portrait of Goupil, a fox collected and raised by humans who had found him almost dying when he was a fox. One of the main elements of the painting is his keen eye.
« To paint is to give life to one's soul and heart. »
French artist Laurence Saunois has established herself on the international scene thanks to her talent recognized by the prestigious Society of Animal Artists in the United States, from which she received an Award of Excellence, as well as by the Art Renewal Center, which awarded her the title of Living Master Associate. She has participated in numerous SAA exhibitions and the National Tour, allowing her to exhibit in leading American museums. Her realistic and sensitive animal works are featured in several private and public collections. With Nympheus Luminansis – Water Lilies of Light, Laurence Saunois opens a new chapter in her artistic career. Inspired by Monet's gardens at Giverny, this series of ten large-format works makes light and color the true protagonists of her works. Already internationally acclaimed, it will be presented during a US museum tour from 2026 to 2027 in six museums.
