About this artwork
My approach is quite experimental, drawing inspiration from Eastern spiritual practices, calligraphy and printing techniques. Initial print is enriched with a bold, expressive drawing done in ink, later on refined with colored pencils.
For past decade I dedicated my personal and artistic exploration to sacred erotic arts, inspired by Taoist and Tantric traditions. Personal exploration of inner depth is revealed and shaped during printing and drawing.…
What was ancient and distant becomes intimate and integrated into my own being. I aim to bridge distances: between cultures, epochs, artistic traditions and people, constantly searching for those universal aspects we all share.
My aim to is deliver results of my exploration in the visual representation, hoping that it will ignite the curiosity in the ones who are contemplating it to dive deeper in their own inner worlds.

Lea Jerlagic is a painter, printmaker, and visual artist with a background in Western and Chinese printmaking, merging her academic training with Eastern influences. Her approach is experimental, using Chinese woodblock printing technique, calligraphic brushwork and drawing on delicate handmade papers, often enriching her pieces with tempera, acrylics, and colored pencils. Her compositions explore the complexity of human intimacy, with each line left boldly visible, expressing thus her passion for drawing and her search for truth.
