About this artwork
These two small yet weighty works reflect on the emotional landscape left in the aftermath of tragedy and war. Created using a combination of painting and cast concrete, they speak to the irreversible imprint that loss and trauma leave on the human soul.
“Broken Life” captures the moment of collapse — a visual lament of grief and destruction. A shattered herbarium stands in for all that was once alive, now preserved in silence. The monochrome palette… replaces life’s colors, evoking entropy and a sense of irreversible change.
“Imprints of Life” serves as a quiet continuation — a meditation on the time that follows. Here, we find traces of memory and resilience, etched like fossils into concrete. Life attempts to grow again in a world forever altered.
Together, these pieces form a visual diptych of sorrow and survival - the moment of rupture, and the long, uncertain road beyond it.
