This work has an internal structure made of wood onto which aluminum sheets were subsequently screwed. The artist, in his second work of the series, tried to simulate the erosion process through which wind and water shape the rock. Also in this case, as in every work of this series, Lele De Bonis creates a stylistic game by transforming what is nothing more than an "assembly" into a fake carved and unfinished rock. In this work, in addition to representing… the passage of time in natural processes, the artist has tried to represent in parallel human nature, also, with time in continuous mutation. Erosion is therefore not only a physical issue but also a psychological one. How many things in everyday life shape us, break down, erode inside our soul?
« I am a serial accumulator. From time to time, the objects and materials I collect call me. It is time to start working. »
Lele De bonis is an established artist from Italy whose work has been featured in solo and group shows internationally. Always fascinated by the concept of assembly, De bonis works as both a painter and a sculptor, using recycled materials and collage techniques. The basis of his work is always centered around the human being, representing aspects of society in a realistic or conceptual way.
