About this artwork
In this work the artist returns with his thoughts to his childhood heroes, in this case Grendizer, the robot protagonist of a Japanese cartoon series of the 70s / 80s. But the past unfortunately erases many things and the same images that were once vivid now begin to crumble, to disappear in the face of the wear and tear of time. But it is not just the images that crumble, but the same concepts and ideals that they themselves embodied. In these works… there is therefore a sort of nostalgia and at the same time a search for vanished ideals. The work is made on a wooden support to which small aluminum sheets have been screwed onto which the image of Grendizer was then painted with water-based enamels.
« I am a serial accumulator. From time to time, the objects and materials I collect call me. It is time to start working. »
