About this artwork
The painting depicts the sacred image of Jesus Christ who, suffering on his cross, screams in torment because of his pain. This is a new way of depicting the subject, because he is usually seen crucified but serene. Instead, the cry is precisely the testimony of the human suffering experienced first-hand by Jesus, who became a man among men. The dove tries to alleviate the suffering of Jesus, who writhes on the cross. Here too the artist's style,… basically naive, is seen in the features of Jesus' arm and lips. The work of art was created on canvas, with high quality acrylic colours; the artwork is not framed, but is ready to hang because the artist has attached a rope to the back of the canvas. Work particularly recommended to those who love reflective, meditative, religious, spiritual paintings. Perfect work for those who love literature and history.
Len Vernaghi, originally from Porrentruy but deeply rooted in Italy, is a multidisciplinary person: painter, photographer, designer, textile artist, engraver, sculptor. He stands out for his portable fresco technique, combining traditional pigments with alternative solutions, and uniting contrasting themes and styles. Her works reveal a powerful socio-political commitment, giving voice to frugality, nature, femininity and marginal places, with an atmosphere of wonder derived from her dreamlike subjects.
