About this artwork
This is a portrait of my closest friend, Lea. I created this piece while she was absorbed in her own creation. Lea has always bin a personal role model and inspiration of mine, encouraging to pursue my artistic aspirations - I‘ve captured her aloof and enigmatic energy perfectly in this mixture of oil pastels and watercolour. Using some techniques that she herself has taught me, this is the portrait of my deepest love, love for a lifetime.
Letizia Geltz, a self-taught painter, channels her love for the human body through her art. She uses a bold, abstract style with a strong emphasis on colour and technique, capturing not only the figure but also the character of her subjects. Her works, often signified by the aggressive, sensual use of red, vividly express sensuality and introspection with a hint of cruelty.
