About this artwork
Slow breathing arises from a restrained gesture, from a pause.
It is a work that does not seek noise, but silence.
I worked in layers, allowing the material to emerge as memory: signs, depths, traces that remain beneath the surface. The lower part preserves this more intimate dimension, while above, the light opens with my turquoise, a color that represents me and that recurs as an emotional signature in many of my works.
For me, turquoise isn't… just a color: it's space, breath, openness. It's the point where the work lightens and finds balance.
In this canvas I wanted to stop a moment before the final gesture, letting the rhythm guide the composition.

There are canvases that are born from gesture.
And then there are those that arise from a pause.
